Education (625) Associate of Science Degree

Purpose: Associate of Science (A.S.) in Education degree is a two-year program designed to provide foundational knowledge and skills with pathways including Elementary Education (Pk-6) and Special Education. This program will prepare Virginia Peninsula Community College (VPCC) students for entry-level positions like teacher’s aides, preschool teachers, or paraeducators while laying the groundwork for further education to pursue a bachelor’s degree in education and licensure.
Students enrolled in this two-year transfer program may also be eligible for Passport Courses or Uniform Certificate of General Studies consideration. Please review the link provided for more information and meet with your advisor for details.
Program or Graduation Requirements: Students must participate in an advising session with the college EDU 200 coordinator.
